GILLIG CONVENTIONALS

The first school bus type offered by Gillig, the Conventional, was manuafactured from 1932 until rapidly declining conventional purchases (in addition to heavy advertising of the transit coach lineup)  led to the demise of the lineup in the mid 1970s. The Conventional came in several different styles, and many of them were manufactured on either Ford, International or GMC chassis.

SIERRA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT - CALIFORNIA STATE

This unidentified Gillig conventional on an International Harvester chassis was sent to me by longtime GIlligCoaches.NET contributor Tom Shafer, and added here on January 23, 2007. An update from an eBay listing provided more photos of the bus. The remaining photos came from the sellers of the Gillig, who were gracious in allowing me to showcase them.

GILLIG/IHC LOADSTAR

This Gillig, most likely a late '60s unit, is equipped with an International Loadstar conventional chassis. Unfortunately, no other information is known at this time. These photos were sourced from an ebay listing in either 2002 or 2003, and added on November 20, 2006
